General Plans
U.S.S. Sigsbee (DD 502)
These are general shipyard plans for the Fletcher-class destroyer Sigsbee. They are not construction blueprints, but instead are general plans to give engineers and the Navy a broad outline of the ship’s design.
Sigsbee was a round-bridge variant, but was otherwise nearly identical to Abbot. See the history the Sigsbee for more information.
Adobe Flash is required to view the plans, and a zoom toolbar will appear beneath each enlarged drawing (though you many need to scroll down to see it). Use the zoom toolbar to enlarge or reduce the magnification; use the zoom toolbar arrows or your mouse to drag the drawing left, right, up and down. These plans were obtained by Ed Zajkowski, scanned by the Historic Naval Ships Association and converted to Adobe Flash format by Walt Baranger.
